Communities Against Cancer

09/11/21

Calling all voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Dorset! We are inviting you to join our Communities Against Cancer project.

This is about helping people understand how they can reduce their risk of cancer, raise awareness of symptoms and support people to overcome barriers to seeking help early. We want to improve early diagnosis of cancer when treatment is more likely to be successful.

Grants of up to £5,000 are available for cancer awareness/prevention projects. This could fit in with work you are already delivering or be a new piece of work. We particularly want to reach groups who face challenges to looking after their own health or experience health inequalities. You don’t need to know about cancer to apply.

To enable you to feel more confident in communicating cancer awareness messages, you can attend our free 2 part Zoom cancer awareness workshops. These are open to all in the VCSE sector so please book on if you would like to learn more. Dates available in November & in the new year. Please get in touch to see how we can support you with this project.

For more information about applying for a grant available or to book on to Cancer awareness Zoom workshops please email Claire Vincent, Project Coordinator claire.vincent@actionhampshire.org
