Spring COVID-19 vaccinations – Hampshire & Isle of Wight
NHS COVID-19 vaccinations have saved countless lives, kept tens of thousands of people out of hospital, and helped us to live with the virus without fear or restrictions.
The latest offer of spring vaccinations for those at highest risk of severe illness from COVID-19 includes people who are undergoing cancer treatment.
If you have recently completed a course of immunotherapy, chemotherapy or radiotherapy, it may still be affecting your immune system. Please speak to your GP or cancer specialist. If they think it may still be affecting your immune system, then you will be eligible for a further Covid-19 vaccine.
Categories of higher risk people include:
- Care home residents
- People aged 75 and over
- Those undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy
- Those with a history of haematological malignancy including chronic leukaemia, lymphomas, and leukaemia
How to book
The campaign runs until 30th June. You will be invited for your booster, your GP may offer you the vaccine or you can book using the NHS app, calling 119 or the national booking system now.
The vaccination will be available through a mixture of walk-in and booked appointments at pharmacies and GP practices
You can call the Hampshire and Isle of Wight COVID Vaccination helpline for any COVID-19 vaccination-related enquiry. The number is 0300 561 0018. The helpline is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturday and Sunday.
